Finger Lakes Railway Purchases "New" Locomotive

FGLK 2308FGLK 2308If you have driven by the yard office in recent weeks, you may have noticed a different locomotive on the property. That bright yellow beast is the latest addition to our fleet.

The engine, numbered 2308, is a General Electric model B23-7. Originally built in March of 1981 for the Southern Railroad, it was later sold to the Camas Prairie Railnet, and then to the Georgia & Florida Railway. Now it is FGLK's turn to own this 268,000lb, 2300HP workhorse.

Edit: The engine is now in regular service.
